Ridley Scott who also directed Gladiator
and 1492 Conquest Of Paradise, directs this
epic historical drama that centers around
the Crusades of the 12th century. The Crusades
were expeditions undertaken, in fulfilment
of a solemn vow, to deliver the Holy Places
from Mohammedan tyranny.
Orlando Bloom plays Balian who is a humble
French blacksmith that is searching for
a reason to continue living after the death
of his wife and children. Muslim factions
that are led by Saladin are confronted by
a handful of knights who are sought to build
peace in these turmultuous times.
